We all know how easy it is to fall off the food wagon during the holidays. Here's a simple and nutrient-packed Thanksgiving recipe to keep you full and satiated during that tricky time-period. 


1 tablespoon grapeseed oil 1 small onion chopped 2 garlic cloves, minced 1½ lbs. lean ground turkey 1 teaspoon chili powder ½ tablespoon cumin ½ tablespoon oregano 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes 2 (15.5-ounce) cans of cannellini beans, rinsed and drained 1 cup chicken broth Salt and pepper, to taste ½ red onion, chopped (optional) Fresh cilantro (optional)

Heat the grapeseed oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onions and garlic and sauté until soft, about 5 minutes. Add the ground turkey and cook it until it’s white, breaking up clumps with a fork. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, oregano, and red pepper flakes and cook for 2 minutes. Add the beans and broth and cook uncovered for 10 minutes. Lower the heat, cover the pot, and let the chili simmer for another 30 to 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add salt and pepper, to taste. Serve with chopped red onion and fresh cilantro, if desired.
